Hi.  My name is Aloke Ranjan Patra.  I am 35 years old and have a young energetic personality.  Born in Ghatal (a town 100 km from Kolkata), I grew up the youngest of five elder brothers and three sisters.   My father was a school teacher and my mother a housewife.  I lost my parents a few years ago in 1992 and 1993 when I was working at a job in Kolkata.

After completing high school, I studied for two years and received a Civil Diploma in drafting from the Industrial Training Institute ( I.T.I ) in Kolkata.   Shortly after, I joined a private engineering company in Kolkata as a steel detailer.  This was my first experience working in an office.  I was inspired by my elder brother, who is currently a senior checker with DowcoMax, to study civil engineering at North Calcutta  Polytechnic in Kolkata and I completed the D.C.E.course (1st class) in 1998.   At that time I joined another engineering company in Kolkata beginning as senior detailer and progressing to checker, working in steel detailing and design.  Eight years later, I left to join another detailing company in New Delhi as checker and group leader and there I learned to use X-STEEL.   Three years later, I applied for a position with DowcoMax.  I am now happy to be a member of the DowcoMax group and hope our team can help make Dowco into the largest steel detailing company in the world.

I have a beautiful family.  My lovely wife Sovona holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and sixteen months ago, she gifted me with a sweet daughter named Shreyatapa (Mimi).  I enjoy playing soccer, listening to music and to the news, and watching movies and, of course, playing with my daughter in my spare time.
