I was born in Vancouver B.C. and raised on the East Side. I grew up with my father ( Bogdan), mother ( Darinka), and my sister ( Helen ). I went to school at Templeton High. Upon graduation I attended post secondary for two years. One year was for construction basic and advanced as well as some cabinet making. The second year was for drafting basic, architectural and steel detailing.

I enjoyed the construction field but could not see myself doing it until retirement. The thought of wet feet and rain rolling off my hard hat and down my back for 40 years was too much. So I decided to find a career where I could stay dry and drink lots of bad coffee. Enter drafting!

I have worked for several detailing companies. This is my second time around at Dowco. Hugh and Dowco have been good at keeping me busy. I’ve been in the business for a fair length of time and only hope I can keep fooling them into thinking I know what I’m doing. I’ll stick to my plan and walk around the office cursing, holding a drawing in one hand and a pencil in the other. I’m sure they’ll say to themselves “Man, that Nick’s intense! He works way too hard”.

My hobbies, when I have time, are too many to list. The past six years have been really rewarding. I married my beautiful wife Sandra, and we have two sons, Nicholas and Stefan. One of my favourite pastimes is watching them play. My most important goal is to keep them happy, and try to squeeze in as much fun as we can stand in such a short period of time.
