I was born and raised in Hong Kong and am the youngest of the family. After graduating from high school, I joined an engineering firm handling mainly building services projects. At the same time I pursued my mechanical diploma at night. I was lucky to be involved in the biggest project at the time – Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center and worked through the project from pouring foundation to fixing job defects and finally tenants moving in. I still remember being amazed when I saw the structural steel beams, columns and trusses being erected every day. It was a great four years experience not only in building services technology but also in structural technology.

In 1990, I gave up my job as an Engineer and moved with my family to the beautiful country of Canada.  It was very hard but I have never regretted decision. It was not an easy time, especially for a young man with no Canadian experience. Therefore, I decided to pursue further education. Instead of continuing with mechanical studies, I decided to start all over again in something I really liked …Civil Engineering. Time has proved I chose the right path. I graduated with high honors in 1994 and I got my job at TSD as a detailer before I finished my school term.

It has been a fruitful 11 years of experience at TSD. Over this period, the structural steel industry has changed from manual drafting to a 2D database type program and finally to a 3D modeling type program. Fortunately I have experienced all three detailing processes and most importantly worked through these changes at different stages. Thanks to Eric Lee, who has given me many opportunities and his trust in the past years to fulfill my job requirements.

The merger of the Dowco and TSD in November 2004 brought me a new role. I am now working in an even more well-established and organized team. I am able to apply my previous work experience into several new tasks. It is a big challenge for me and I am enjoying the excitement. I hope this happy merger will continue to be successful and valuable.

When I am not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, my lovely wife Glorious and my 2 wonderful children - Ginny 6 and Jayden 16 months old. They are all doing very well. In my spare time (not enough of it), I love to play snooker, soccer, badminton, or just relax and plan my retirement…
