During my recent visit to Long Beach, California, for the North American Steel Construction Convention, I had the opportunity to visit netGuru Inc., in nearby Yorba Linda. The Company has been traded in NASDAQ since 1996. It follows strict corporate governance and is also registered to ISO 9001. The Company operates in eight countries through its own offices, providing software services and marketing its own proprietary software. Research Engineers, Inc., a division of netGuru, is known for its STAAD.Pro software – the world’s number 1 structural engineering software.

Dowco is a reseller of STAAD.Pro in Canada. The software is now integrated with Xsteel in the new Tekla Structures offering.

I enjoyed a tour of the facilities in Yorba Linda and met with several of their key software engineers. After a discussion on possible strategic relationships, we adjourned for dinner, where discussions continued and future collaboration was investigated.

Ewen and I leave on May 14th to visit netGuru’s office in Calcutta. We are also looking forward to a side visit to the Taj Mahal before we return home from New Delhi.
