Meet Our Staff

Alberto Guanique
I was born in El Salvador, a small country on the west coast of Central America, although I was raised in Montreal, Quebec after my mother immigrated to Canada when I was three years old. Now 20 years later, I am working here at Dowco in British Columbia..
As well as my mother, I have two brothers, a sister and a grandmother. Having brothers made my childhood fun…I remember after one trip to El Salvador, we brought back slingshots and slung little aquarium rocks at each other, but had to stop when I almost took out my brother’s left eye! Good times!
Nowadays my activities are much safer…drawing, photography, clay sculpture and time to study. I have two goals I would like to achieve, one to start and complete a clay castle model (presently still in the drawing phase). The other longer term goal is to learn the Korean language. I’m not sure why, but I find it interesting and it is a relatively easy alphabet to learn. I’ve always been interested in how a country could be divided into Republican and Democratic states, and I am also intrigued by Korean women...and what better way to approach them than by talking to them in their own language of origin?
I am currently working in the Surrey office, and hopefully I will get to know the staff more personally either at our office get-togethers or through the biographies in future editions of the Details magazine! Cheers!
