Operations Corner
The Kolkata office continues to expand, welcoming 10 new employees this month. Sanjay Prasad, Dowco’s Technical Coordination Manager, spent 2 weeks there during March carrying out staff inductions and training. On June 1st Dowco will open a new detailing operation in Langley, BC. With room for 35, the Langley office will be Dowco’s third in the Greater Vancouver area. The initial team will draw from our existing staff in Burnaby and Whonnock. Dowco recently won two major detailing projects: the 42,000 ton Cosmopolitan project in Las Vegas and the majority of the new Goldman Sachs headquarters in New York at approximately 50,000 tons. Each job will take around 52 weeks to complete. Work is also continuing on the new Vancouver Convention Center, with the western portion of the building due for release in May this year.Wayne Morrison

Held in February, the 2006 NASC conference in San Antonio attracted a record-breaking 3000 attendees. It was a great opportunity to meet with old friends and new, while the Texas sunshine provided a welcome break from rain-soaked Vancouver. Among the many highlights was playing golf in a reclaimed quarry.
