Innovation and change are two constants at Dowco. Over the years we have realized that to grow systematically, we must search for innovative ways to improve our service offering. The 1980's saw Dowco's entry into the world of automated detailing technologies. The 90's saw the beginning of the next generation of detailing technology (Tekla 3D). Dowco's next big leap is the formation of our new Dowco MAX India operation. The decision to extend our operations to include a lower-cost service centre in India will position Dowco as the world's leading IT-enabled steel solutions company.
By establishing Dowco MAX India, we can now achieve true "24/7" operation and will be able to meet the most demanding of schedules. Additionally, our service offerings will expand dramatically as we penetrate the global steel construction market. Several of our senior staff will be stationed in India for an extended period of time to ensure strict adherence to Dowco's North American ISO 9001 standards and to Dowco's proprietary internal methodology and processes. Initial operation begins in July 2005 with the introduction of 25 Tekla Structures, Steel Detailing (Full Version) licenses. Plans are to expand this to 50 licenses by December 2005. Worldwide service industries have witnessed revoluntionary changes during the last few years. The emergence of Internet and the rapid development of IT-enabling technologies have created opportunities for companies to create cost-efficient service models by locating some strategic service functions to lower-cost, technology-competent regions.
