AISC Drafting Committee
The AISC Drafting Meeting covered the status and progress of the new Steel Detailers’ Course to be broadcast over the internet. A beta version of this course is scheduled to be available to the Committee by the end of 2005, with a formal release scheduled for NASCC in February 2006 in San Antonio. The AISC is committed to continuing education for detailers, and will be developing other program ideas. Members of the Committee have already developed articles for Modern Steel Construction (MSC) Magazine…”Checklist for Checkers” by Yeagar & Mednic and “Detailer Training Programs” by Fullmer. The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the National Institute of Steel Detailers (NISD) all held meetings in Montreal at the time of the North American Steel Construction Convention (NASCC).
