Special Awards
Earlier this year, Doug Patton, our Bank of Montreal Relationship Manager, nominated us for the "Family Enterprise of the Year Achievement Award" with CAFÉ (Canadian Association of Family Enterprise), Vancouver, B.C. CAFÉ annually recognize significant achievements of business families. We were selected as runner-up for this year's award.
The winner was Porte Realty, founded in 1968 by Hershey Park. They have grown from a company focused on real estate brokerage to one including property management, commercial and residential development, brokerage and financing.
CAFÉ then nominated us for the Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year Achievement Award." This prestigious business award is presented in fifty countries. This year's black tie awards banquet was held October 8th at the Vancouver Convention Centre. There were eight categories, and one final overall winner. Finalists in each category received a plaque (now on display in the office) and Ryan Beedie of the Beedie Real Estate Group was declared overall winner. All finalists were featured in the October issue of B.C. Business Magazine.
