Project Report: Burnaby Office

The Eastern Portion of The Vancouver Convention Centre for Canron is in its final stages of erection. The Western Portion of the Convention Centre has already started with the model over 50% connected and Shop Issued. If everything goes as planned, Wojtek and his crew should be complete before Christmas.

Areas 1 thru 4 have been completed in the Burnaby office on the 40,000 ton Goldman Sachs Headquarters in New York City for DCM Erectors. This leaves only Area #5 (Roof Levels) left to complete by our Toronto office.

The 10,000 Ton Sandow 5 Power Plant for the Bechtel Power Corporation that Sanjay Prasad is heading up with help from Steven Chang is now 100% complete except for additional Platforms just added. Well done everyone involved for their outstanding contribution to the success of this Project.

The Panama Museum of Biodiversity headed by Don Adair is in full steam. The model has been connected and the Shop Drawings are now being checked. We will be soon coming into the final stages of this most challenging Project.

Dowco has just been awarded the Solaris Lodge in Vail, Colorado from Zimmerman Metals. This 5400 Ton Project is scheduled to start in early October. We are extremely happy to be working again with the same team of SCI Engineering, LPR Erectors and Davis & Company (Architects) all of which previously worked together on the Denver Art Museum a few years back.

Dowco has also been awarded the modeling and detailing of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre retro fit in Vancouver. This fine theatre built in 1959 is being renovated for additional seating capacity and upgraded to the latest building code standards.
