BIM Expert and Engineering Segment Manager joins Dowco Technology Services

We are proud to announce that Mike Samilski, EIT has joined Dowco's Technology Team. Mike began his career at Dowco eleven years ago after completing the steel detailing course at VCC. After working as a detailer for two years, Mike returned to UBC to study engineering. Over the course of the next three years Mike worked part time at Dowco when his schedule permitted. Nearing the end of his engineering studies he joined up with an engineering consultant Glotman Simpson, where he assisted with 3D modeling and BIM (Building Information Modeling) management of several projects, including the Vancouver Convention Centre Expansion Project.

During his time at Glotman Simpson, he was also involved with the structural design of various structures including high rises, low rises, and renovation projects. Mike's final stop before returning to Dowco was Canron Western Constructors, where he was involved with the design of steel buildings and connections. Mike also had the added responsibility of advising and implementing BIM methods and workflows on design assist projects.

We look forward to the addition of Mike to our Technical team and we are certain that Mike is looking forward to the many new challenges ahead as Dowco Technology Services, BIM Consultant and Engineering Segment Manager.
