Tekla has recently made some additional tools to aid in modeling steel railing and stairs. The new features include:

  • New surface treatment patterns to represent wire mesh and grating
  • New custom component for stair treads, which can be used inside the stair macros for fully customizable steps. Also, you can put in the pattern showing the grating.
  • New custom component to be used to make railing panels between rail posts for sloping and level railing. Panels come in with wire mesh tile pattern. These components can be used inside Railings (S77) system component.
  • New custom component to make detailed grating panel, modeling all the steel pieces as separate parts

These tools give you the ability to model in stairs and railings to look even more like the true fabricated stair. These tools will be part of Tekla Structures 16.0, but can also be used in version 15.0.
