Project Report - Laval Office
Andre Lefebvre, Office Manager (Laval)

Andre Lefebvre

Laval Office have been working on two 2 Schuff Steel jobs, DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) and Sacramento International Airport Central Terminal B.

On both projects Laval Office started detailing the structural steel while the client’s design teams were not completely finished with their work, resulting in a larger than usual amount of revisions. With the combined efforts of the Laval team and add to the recipe good communications with Schuff’s management team - plus extended hard days of work, we maintained our commitment to Schuff Steel to supply their shops work requirements. I would like to thank all the Dowco staff for their team efforts, with special thanks to Domenico Papandrea and his team for the work they have done on the Sacramento Airport project, and to Benoit Bergeron and his team for the work they have done on the DISA project. Both teams have done a tremendous job, which was well appreciated by the client.

We are presently working on RDK8 Alstom Project (tier 3 to 6). The project is managed by Rick Station in the Burnaby office and we have been assigned five cubes (divisions) which represent a bit more than 1,100 tons of steel.

With the recession now hitting us hard, Dowco Laval staff, with help from the Quebec government, will use this down time to attempt four weeks of special Tekla training, which will include a precast segment, to better prepare us to face the new demanding realities of the steel detailing market.
