Operations Corner
Ken Mussato, VP Quality Management, Operations Manager

Ken Mussato

It has been a tough few months.  We have all heard about the slowdown with the economic picture growing gloomier and gloomier.  We too are now feeling it as well. The recent slow down has affected everyone in our industry.  Dowco is more fortunate than many of our competitors and although we cannot predict an end to it, we are optimistic a recovery is just around the corner.

In slow times such as these, successful companies must use this slow time to become more efficient and to chart a course that will take us through the storm.  We are currently reorganizing our internal operations to become more efficient.  We are branching out into other disciplines to take full advantage of the tools which are available in Tekla.  We are planning for the future by becoming more efficient and productive.

We are nearing completion for the detailing portion of the RDK8 power plant which has seen all of our offices involved to some extent. We still have work on the table from some clients, and are just waiting for the go-ahead from them

It is particularly difficult to ask someone to work as hard in slow times knowing you are working yourself out of a job.  I must commend all of you for continuing with your dedication and great work ethics.  That’s what makes a company great!  You are the reason we survived previous recessions and you will be the reason we survive this one.
