Meet our Staff: Trevor Norton (Surrey)

I was born on October 12th, 1987 and have a twin brother (Tyler). I grew up in Delta B.C. until the age of 9, then moved to Surrey. Although we were not identical twins, a lot of people called me by my brother’s name because they could never tell us apart.

I graduated from Fraser Heights Secondary in 2005 and began work as a house framer. I had chosen this as my career and had enrolled into the framing course at BCIT. After experiencing what it was like to work in the pouring rain in 3 degree weather for two and a half weeks, I decided that I did not want to do framing for the rest of my life.

After visiting a BCIT open house day, I enrolled in the BCIT Structural Drafting and Design program. I met with the instructors and had viewed the work of some of the students and found it to be very interesting. My main interest in the program was in the 3D modeling.

Just before graduating at BCIT, a lot of jobs were presented to me. I chose Dowco as my employer because they seemed to offer more than just a job. They offered employees the opportunity to increase their knowledge and to grow in the company. They had also trained the class in Tekla Structures, which I had found challenging and exciting to use. I have now been detailing and working for Dowco for one year. I would like to thank all the crew in Surrey for helping me become more knowledge in our detailing field.
