Meet our Staff: Benoit Bergeron (Laval)

Hi guys! I am Ben. I’ve been asked to write a resume of my “famous” life for the Dowco DETAILS magazine. So, here it is.

I was born in the mid-seventies in the Montreal area and currently live in the north-shore with my family. I have been married to my wife Lucie for 12 years now. We met because of my steel detailing job, though she is not in the business. Her sister used to work with me, and she matched us up. Can you believe it? Matching people together does work! My son Sébastien is now 3 years of age and Marie-Pierre, my big girl is 5 (starts school in September…man, time goes fast!)

I began as a junior detailer with a small three-person company that had posted a job offer at my school. I thought I’d start with that and look for a “real job” in a few months after I was done with my architectural technician courses. But it didn’t take long for me to realize that this job IS a real one…and more than that…I love it! So I decided to make my career out of that steel detailer job.

I worked for that company for about a year and a half and then moved to work for Gerard Courrier. A little more than ten years later, Gerard sold his company to Dowco, and ever since, I’ve been happy to work with you guys.

Sometimes I do other things than just work for Dowco... In winter, I ski. My daughter has already started and my son is coming with us next season. In summer I golf. I won’t tell you I made a “hole in one” last year because people are fed-up with me talking about it! Mostly I love to spend time with my children doing things, making them discover all they can. They laugh at thunder and lightning - they are fishing butterflies…yes, fishing! (don’t ask me how!) - they like to cook their own breakfast – they speak English like this: “hjbsl vdoiujfv zisdhs dsnf!!!” for now - they like space and planets, they want to see Mexico and learn Spanish… The list is never ending. I love them.
