Project Report: Toronto Office
Charlie Jenks, Office Manager (Toronto)
NEF (Nuclear Enrichment Facility) for Hirshfeld;
Detailing for this project has been complete for some time. However a constant flow of EWO’s is keeping the project alive. Shaun Bishop and Toby Holt at Hirschfeld have continued to make this a challenging but enjoyable project for us. We have recently bid on another area of the NEF, Building 1100. If we are awarded this area, I am confident it will be a positive experience for the Dowco team, much like the first two ventures.
Legacy on 101 for Strocal, Inc.
This project is complete, with some minor outstanding approvals lagging. Gord Lamb and the crew continue to keep this project on course and have overcome a large number of detailing requests that we generally do not accommodate. With Strocal’s challenging shop/detailing customs, the project was a learning experience for the crew to appreciate working with strict shop standards. The project is being fabricated in the Stockton plant. Erection has yet to begin.
WTC – Tower One (Area 3 & 6) for DCM Erectors
Dowco is detailing two areas of the WTC. Area 3, including floors 21 to 40 and Area 7 including floors 61 through 100. The entire project is being detailed using Tekla Structures and is a shared venture with other detailing firms. This involves its own challenges as communications regarding matching connections prove to be high priority between companies. Area 3 is scheduled to be complete by the first week of December and Area 6 by June 2009. A large number of RFI's and a number of EWO’s would have normally pushed the schedule back, but Don Shaver, Orly Gaspar and the crew have been able to push through and maintain the schedule. Keep up the good work guys.
