During the last few months, Dowco has been awarded 5 medium to large pre-construction / BIM (Building Information Modeling) jobs. These contracts were negotiated with Herrick Corporation, Schuff Steel Company and Gayle Manufacturing and will also see us working closely with the owners, general contractors, designers and other sub-contractors before construction begins. This approach also enables Dowco to have a positive effect on the quality of the design documentation and models furnished for the shop detailing phase.

2008 has also seen the company develop relationships with new clients in the UK, Europe and Asia, for a variety of new projects. Moving successfully into these new regions will enable us to ride the inevitable downturns in any individual regional market.

The detailing operation has recently won several new projects for existing clients: Alstom Power Systems, A Zahner Company, Berlin Steel Construction Company, Gayle Manufacturing, Hatch International, Helmark Steel, Inc., Herrick Corporation, Hirschfeld Steel Co., Isaacson Structural Steel, P.T. Freeport, the Shaw Group and Schuff Steel Company.

As Dowco continues to expand, I’d like to welcome aboard all our new team members. I look forward to working with you all.

It was a pleasure to join an enthusiastic group of Dowco staff from both the detailing and software sales divisions at the Tekla North American User Group Meeting for 2008 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from August 21st to 23rd,. This event attracted over 360 people, who thoroughly enjoyed the many interesting presentations and other activities.
