Training your employees is more beneficial from many standpoints than recruiting new staff for a job. It can cost more to recruit new employees; employers can elect to train employees with a proven track record; employee satisfaction and retention goes up as they see the opportunity within the company.

The Dowco Online Learning Network currently offers two eLearning courses and is currently completing development of our third.

The Tekla Structures Basic Training course has been fully endorsed by Tekla Corporation. This course can take a Detailer with no knowledge of Tekla Structures and make them productive in one (1) week. Dowco Technology Services has been Tekla's partner, reseller, and service provider of Tekla Structures for 12 years.

The Detailing for Steel Construction course was created to address the shortage of structural steel detailing technicians and technologists in the industry. This comprehensive course was developed by Dowco Educational Services and fully endorsed by the American Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) and is a valuable tool for detailing firms, fabricators, and any other firms that employ people to prepare and review structural shop drawings. This course provides up to 400 hours of online instruction.

Nearing completion is the Connection Design course. The course is recommended for senior detailers, checkers and project supervisors. Major sections cover: Bolted Connections, Bolted Tension Connections, Welded Connections, Beam Shear Connections, Eccentric Connections, Prying Action, Truss Connections, Moment Connections and H.S.S. Connections.
