Project Report : Laval Office
Andre Lefebvre, Office Manager (Laval)
We are about to finalize our two Schuff Steel projects:
The first is DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) with Schuff Steel, Phoenix. Delivery dates for this project have been extended several times due to an impressive amount of revisions, from the original completion date of September 2008. We finished the base bid project by March 2009 and are now working to process the last received extras by mid-April, and we are now putting on the last touches.
The second project is Sacramento Airport / Airside, with Schuff Steel in California. We are to issue the last sequence of the building on April 10th, even if we have not yet received the final 100% set of design drawings. This set was due to be issued for construction before Christmas 2008. Now, depending on how the final set will affect the work we have already done to the present date, this project should be completed by the beginning of May.
I would like to take this time to thank Schuff Steel for their comprehensive approach and the staff of all the Dowco offices for their help and support. I also would like to congratulate all the Laval staff for their contribution and their continued efforts to successfully complete these two projects.
Alstom RDK8 is the third project that Laval is working on. In mid-January we started work on a portion of Tier 2 of the project, helping our Langley office. We are almost finished and we are about to start on Tiers 3 to 6. The main challenge of this project is not the complexity of the job, being mostly simple beams, but the tightly scheduled delivery dates and tonnage required to be shipped is something that calls for coordination and team effort
