Project Report: Burnaby Office
Rick Station, RSD, CTech, NISD
Office Manager (Burnaby)

The detailing for the 24,000 Ton Echelon Expo Center in Las Vegas for Hirschfeld Steel Company has come to a successful conclusion. It has been a pleasure working with Rick Gibbons on this Project and we hope to work more with Hirschfeld on future Projects.
The Pedestrian Bridge Landings for Hirschfeld Steel Company, which was started in August, has been put on HOLD due to redesign revisions. Hopefully we will be receiving this information in the near future so we can complete by early January.
The 500 Ton College of San Mateo Building 5N for The Herrick Corporation is in its final stages of completion. Our Project Manager, Matt Peck and his crew have been working very hard at completing this Project with all the revision plus trying to incorporate Herrick standards to the Tekla 3D modeling process. We hope all this effort will pay off so we can continue this good working relationship.
The 5250 Ton Phoenix Children’s Hospital for Schuff Steel is well underway. Tony Han and his crew have been working very closely with Jim Madden and Bill Maxwell from Schuff to make sure we do meet and beat all the delivery schedule dates to keep their shops busy.
We have now completed all the floor steel and are working up on the roof of the 5400 Ton Solaris Lodge in Vail, Colorado for Zimmerman Metals. This roof steel poses the biggest challenge on this Project. The detailing is not progressing along as well as we hoped, because of the many revisions to the roof steel framing being received at this time.
The main part of the Maritza Power Plant Unit #2 - Boiler House from Alstom Power Systems out of Germany is now complete with all the model revision coming over the last few months. We have also commenced working on the residual work for Unit 1 & 2 as requested. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people from all the offices who worked on this project. Their hard work and dedication helped us to meet all of our commitments…. WELL DONE!
The Pre-construction phase on the 4,000 Ton 500 5th Ave. North Campus Project (Bill and Linda Gates Foundation) for Dave Ritter of Sellen Construction is well underway. Wojtek Jablkowski’s crew is also working closely with Canron Constructors out of Portland, Oregon to complete the detailing on this Project.
The 9,000 Ton Kaiser – Oakland Replacement Hospital from Gayle Manufacturing Company is now scheduled to begin in early January. We are looking forward to be working again with Gayle.
The following names are Burnaby’s Individual Achievement award winners for September through to December ’08. Congratulations to:

Let us hope 2009 will be as an enjoyable and busy as 2008 has been. Keep up the good work.
