The 24,000 Ton Echelon Expo Center in Las Vegas for Hirschfeld Steel Company is well underway. Wojtek Jablkowski’s crew are doing an excellent job in keeping the tight delivery schedule, considering 3 major revisions have been encountered so far.

The 10,000 Ton Sandow 5 Power Plant for the Bechtel Power Corporation is now complete. It has been a pleasure working with the Bechtel team. We hope we can continue this relationship in the future.

The 5400 Ton Solaris Lodge in Vail, Colorado from Zimmerman Metals is in full swing. There has been a steady stream of redesigns that is crippling the modeling and detailing process. This has had an enormous effect on the delivery schedule and the out look does not seem to be getting any better soon.

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for Helmark Steel is nearly finished. We are still waiting for verification on the last few remaining pieces of steel on the roof to complete.

In February, Dowco was awarded a 14,000 Ton Maritza Power Plant Unit #2- Boiler House from Alstom Power Systems out of Germany. This Project will be fabricated in Turkey and erected in Bulgaria. This is our first European Project which has been designed using DIN 18800. Since this is a fast track Project, our Burnaby office has taken the lead with help from our Langley office.

Also in February we were awarded the 9,000 Ton Kaiser – Oakland Replacement Hospital from Gayle Manufacturing Company. This will include pre-construction services which require working closely with the Architect and Engineer in creating a model before commencing with the detailing of the Project.

The Vancouver Convention Centre for Canron is finally complete. Our Provincial Government has awarded medals to all participants in the construction of this building, since it will be a big part of the 2010 Winter Olympics set for Vancouver. Thanks again to Jim McLagan, Vice President of Canron, who came to our office to present medals to all the project staff members.

Congratulations on a job well done!
