Project Report: Toronto Office
Eric Lee, VP Operations - Toronto
The lease-hold improvements for an additional 2,700 sq. ft of new office space has been completed, and many thanks go to Philip J. Young for his recent trip to the office here to relocate our servers and connect our network cables. A new lunch room for this office will allow most employees to relax and enjoy lunch away from their work stations. We plan to move our board room, training room and make space for a lounge or game room soon. This office is looking to hire an additional 10 plus employees in the very near future.
Goldman Sachs – All missing dimensions and information have been received, problems resolved, and every effort has been made by Don Shaver and his crew to expedite drawings for approval and fabrication. The crew are currently concentrating on completing the 13th Mezzanine and 14th Floor. With help from Burnaby office, we anticipate bringing this project back on schedule.
North Texas Toll Way Canopies – The long awaited design changes have materialized and with thanks again to Don Shaver and his crew, we are implementing these changes to the columns, trusses, support arms and brackets as quickly as possible to keep the project on schedule for erection of the framing this summer.
Fedex Hangar – Inconsistencies and conflicting information on design drawings delayed the progress of this project, but compliments are due to Eva Pohoriljakova and her group for moving this job along relatively well. The Hangar comprises 75% of this project. Connections will soon be complete and will keep us busy until this summer.
Philadelphia Children’s Hospital – Central Utility Plant is the next round of the additional work awarded to us late last year, while drawings were out for approval. The surveyor’s report indicates all existing columns are significantly out of plumb. Evaluation is underway to assess the amount of rework needed to suit existing conditions. The Service Building is well underway and Frank Collins’crew are hoping to have this project completed by early July.
