Ewen Dobbie graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1990, beginning his business career with Dowco Consultants Ltd. soon after. Ewen's arrival at Dowco coincided with the introduction of Accugraph Corporation's MountainTop, a sophisticated 2D CAD program. Responsible for the introduction of MountainTop training at Dowco, Ewen established himself as part of the Dowco team. A certified Accugraph instructor, his expertise included assisting in the sales of MountainTop, the training of new users, and the assisting of companies in their efforts to maximize their productivity with MountainTop.

In 1999, Ewen had the role of Sales and Marketing Manager for Dowco's Tekla Structures sales division, and was responsible for the sales and marketing of the Tekla Structures, 3D Detailing software for Canada and 17 US states. With the help of a world class Tekla Structures support team, Tekla Structures sales more than doubled that of previous years sales. Sales of the Tekla Structures product have increased each year since.

In January 2002, Ewen was promoted to Vice President Marketing and Sales, and directed the marketing and sales of Dowco's Detailing Services as well as the sales of Tekla Structures throughout North America.

Following several years as Vice President, responsible for Dowco's domestic business interests and international expansion plans, Ewen became President of Dowco Consultants Ltd. in May 2007.
